Primoz Roglic ‘more like mentally broken’ after Vuelta a España crash

Following Primož Roglič’s withdrawal from Vuelta a España, his sporting director at Jumbo-Visma said the Slovenian’s second Grand Tour retirement of the season left him “more like mentally broken”.

Roglič, who scored a Vuelta hat-trick last year, has now quit three of his last four Grand Tours following crashes. His participation in this year’s Tour de France came to an end 10 stages after his yellow jersey hopes evaporated following a crash on the road to Arenberg.
