Gisele Bündchen’s Divorce Wasn’t Tom Brady’s ‘Idea’

It seems Tom Brady didn’t want to throw in the towel on his marriage to Gisele Bündchen.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback, 45, who finalized his divorce from the 42-year-old model last week, “wanted to do whatever it took to work things out,” a source recently told People .

“It wasn’t Tom’s idea,” the insider said in reference to the split, later adding that the seven-time Super Bowl champion “didn’t want the divorce and he didn’t want the marriage to end. “.

Brady reportedly tried to “make things work” with Bündchen before calling her, but the efforts appeared “too little, too late,” according to a separate report from People.

“She gave him a lot of opportunities to work things out, and he didn’t,” a source told the outlet.

On Friday, Brady and Bündchen confirmed they were ending their marriage after 13 years together.

“We broke up and while of course it’s hard to go through something like this, I feel blessed for the time we spent together and always wish Tom the best,” Bündchen wrote on Instagram.

Brady, who shares son Benjamin, 12, and daughter Vivian, 9, with Bündchen, posted a separate social media post on Friday.

“In recent days my wife and I finalized our divorce after 13 years of marriage,” Brady wrote in an Instagram Story. “We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together.

“We are blessed with beautiful, wonderful children who will continue to be the center of our world in every way. We will continue to work together as parents to always ensure they receive the love and attention they deserve. We came to this decision to end our marriage after careful consideration.

Speculation surrounding the state of Brady and Bündchen’s marriage had been mounting for weeks before the divorce news broke in October.

Ahead of the 2022 NFL season, Page Six exclusively reported that the pair got into heated arguments over the quarterback’s decision not to retire from football. A source later told Page Six that Brady and Bündchen’s marital troubles had “nothing to do” with the NFL.

“The problems are not due to his decision to play football again – sometimes things are complicated,” the insider said.

Brady is currently in his 23rd season in the league and his third year with the Buccaneers, who have lost three in a row.

Tampa Bay, which currently sits second in the NFC South at 3-5, will host the Super Bowl champion Rams on Sunday in a Divisional Round rematch of the January playoffs.
